Sunday Worship Service

We are glad you're here. No matter where you are in your faith, we know that visiting a new church can be intimidating. It is our desire to help you in any way we can.

If you're new to church and the Christian faith, that's ok. We welcome you to participate as much as you feel comfortable. We encourage you to simply observe and give serious consideration to what you see and hear.

There are four basic elements to our worship services

We SING together

We sing truths about who God is, what he has done, and to express our gratitude to God.
(Ephesians 5:19)

We PRAY together

Prayer is talking to God. We pray to thank Him for who He is and what He has done. We also ask Him for the things we want and need.
( Philippians 4:6)

We LISTEN to God's Word

We believe the Bible is the Word of God. It is the means by which God speaks to us. You will hear a public reading of Scripture as well as a sermon from Scripture.
(Romans 10:17)

We RESPOND to what we've heard

Whether with repentance or gratitude, God desires that we respond to His Word. There will be a time for response at the end of the service.
(James 1:22-25)

The Sermon

Preaching at SCBC is generally expositional, meaning that we seek to explain the point of a particular passage in the Bible. Sermons usually last around 40-45 minutes and are filled with Biblical and historical content with a focus toward personal application.

All preaching is driven by the Gospel, the Bible’s main message of God reconciling the world to Himself through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
At SCBC, we believe that giving is a privilege given by God to every believer. We also believe that one should give to God as God has blessed them and as God leads (2 Corinthians 9:7), as an act of surrender and worship, not out of pressure to do so. For this reason, we do not pass a plate at SCBC. Donations may be placed in the boxes near the exit or given online.

SCBC Kids

We have lots of children at SCBC!  During Sunday service, we nursery and classes  from  newborn - 3rd grade are available.

Check-in

To check-in your children, enter the education center through the door to the left of the main worship entrance. There you will be greeted by our friendly children’s ministry staff who will help you enter your child’s info (name, allergies, parental info, etc) using our iPad check-in system.  If we need to reach you during the service your child’s first 3 letters of their last name will appear on a small digital screen above the main projection screen.

Safety

For the safety of your children, all SCBC Children’s Ministry staff members are required to undergo a regular criminal background check and follow strict child safety policies and procedures. No one without a criminal background check is permitted to pass beyond the check-in areas of the children’s ministry areas.  If you have any questions about our children’s ministry please feel free to contact the church office.
